Microsoft officially announced the renewal of its partnership with two of the country’s premier professional IT organizations, the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) and the Junior Philippine Computer Society (JPCS) last September 22, 2010. During the PCS Monthly Membership Meeting Microsoft recognized the Junior Philippine Computer Society for the three consecutive years of partnership. JPCS was the first national student IT organization in the Philippines to receive access to Microsoft software via DreamSpark, Microsoft communication and collaboration tools thru Live@Edu, and IT student development program thru the Microsoft Student Partners.
Five of our Microsoft Student Partners, namely: Kurt Silvano (Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges), Angela Grace Garong (Information and Communications Technology Academy), Leo Luis (FEU East Asia College), Andy Bulay (San Beda College – Alabang) and Karla Recalde (AMA University) were also inducted as part of the JPCS National Board of Officers for school year 2010-2011.
The benefits of Microsoft’s academic programs were extended to JPCS to empower all JPCS officers and members by providing access to software, tools and technology, and open possible opportunities for them to develop their skills to help them succeed in their future career in the industry.
